CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION: QuizApp UK

1. Acceptance of Rules

The QuizApp platform and associated websites are operated under license from QuizApp Ltd (United Kingdom). By registering an account on QuizApp or participating in a live event, you agree to be bound by these Conditions of Participation and our Privacy Policy. We reserve the right to modify these rules at our discretion to maintain the integrity and fairness of the competition.

 

2. Eligibility

  • Age Requirement: You must be 18 years of age or older to participate.

  • Prize Eligibility: While the leaderboard is national, physical prizes and local pub vouchers are strictly reserved for participants present at an authorized participating venue located within the United Kingdom.

  • Exclusions: Employees of QuizApp Ltd, participating venue management, and designated Quiz Masters are ineligible to win prizes.

 

3. The "Single Point" Leaderboard & Scoring

  • National Ranking: Our system provides a unified, fair leaderboard managed by QuizApp Ltd to track performance across all participants.

  • Local Pub Bonuses: Bonus points or specific rewards may be offered for participating venues (such as local partner pubs), where the landlord or management dictates daily, weekly, or monthly prizes.

  • Accuracy & Fair Play: Points are awarded for correct answers. The use of external aids, search engines, or automated "bots" is strictly prohibited. Any player found cheating will be permanently banned, and their scores will be purged. We reserve the right to utilize device-specific identifiers to prevent banned users from creating new accounts.

 

4. Prizes and Rewards

  • Provider: Prizes and vouchers are sponsored and fulfilled in coordination with participating UK venues (such as The Grand Junction Arms).

  • Audit Rights: We reserve the right to audit leaderboard scores and timestamps before awarding major prizes to ensure competition integrity.

  • Claiming Prizes: Winners will be notified via email or through the app platform. Winners must confirm their details or chosen participating venue within 30 (thirty) calendar days of notification. Failure to respond within this period will result in the automatic forfeiture of the prize.

  • No Cash Alternative: All prizes, vouchers, and rewards are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or credit. Prizes are intended for personal use at the confirmed venue only.

  • Age Verification: All prize winners must provide valid government-issued identification upon request to verify they are 18 years of age or older before any prize or voucher is issued.

 

5. Responsible Drinking & Conduct

  • No Purchase Required: Participation is based on skill; no purchase of alcohol is required to play or win prizes.

  • Responsible Consumption: We encourage all participants to enjoy our events responsibly and support the right of venue staff to refuse service to intoxicated individuals in accordance with UK licensing laws.

  • Right of Removal: Any participant deemed disruptive or in violation of the venue’s code of conduct or licensing rules will be disqualified.

  • Safety: Please plan your journey home responsibly. Do not drink and drive.

 

6. Conduct and Fair Play

  • Host Authority: The Quiz Master is the final authority on-site regarding live proceedings; however, technical app operations are governed by the platform administrators.

  • Sportsmanship: We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for harassment toward hosts, venue staff, or fellow competitors.

 

7. Limitation of Liability

The platform is provided "as is". QuizApp Ltd shall not be liable for technical failures, local internet speed, mobile data connectivity, or device latency that may affect a player's ability to submit answers or access the leaderboard.

 

Furthermore, QuizApp Ltd and participating venues shall not be liable for any loss of prizes or data resulting from system glitches, errors, or technical malfunctions. In the event of a technical outage affecting a live event, platform administrators or Quiz Masters reserve the right to adjust scoring or declare a round affected by technical failure null and void at their sole discretion.
